Mission and values

Jhana’s mission is simple: help millions of people get the great manager they deserve. We believe that when managers do better, so do the companies they work for and the teams they work with. It’s what gets us out of bed every morning.

Our mission drives us. Our values guide us. They help us know who to hire, how to develop ourselves and what to focus on when we’re faced with tough decisions.

At Jhana, we believe in:

1. Doing right by our clients.
First, we listen. Then, we act as courageous advisers and truth-tellers, all in the interest of the people leaders and HR partners we serve.

2. Always striving to improve.
Try new things, assess results, learn, and try again a better way — it’s the only way to do our best.

3. Inclusivity.
Diversity of thought helps prevent the status quo. We consider it a competitive advantage.

4. Creating a great place to work.
We know from experience, when you empower people and help them thrive at work, it lifts the whole company. Nifty how that works.

Careers

If you love big challenges and constant change, you’d probably like it here. If you want to help people succeed at work and learn what it’s like to grow a company from scratch, then we should definitely talk.

“Joining Jhana was easily the best career decision I have ever made. Our team is incredibly supportive
and talented, and the growth opportunities are unparalleled. Working here, I have a front-row seat into
what it’s like to build a successful business, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything. If you're comfortable
with uncertainty and love solving hard problems, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better company.”

– Robin Cangie, VP of Marketing

A career at Jhana isn’t for the faint of heart, but we guarantee it will be a fun, wild ride. Here’s why our team loves working here:

Our mission matters.
We really believe in helping people be successful at work, and that includes our employees, too. We’re committed to creating a great place to work and helping each and every Jhanaite, as we affectionately call ourselves, reach his or her full potential. In fact, being a great place to work is so important that we made it a company goal, right up there with our quarterly numbers.

We like working with one another.
It’s fun to collaborate with interesting, supportive, driven people. We enjoy spending time together with weekly happy hours and quarterly team events, but we believe it’s equally important to take time away from work. From cooking to photography to Ultimate Frisbee, our team members have rich lives outside the office, too.

We value diversity.
And we don’t mean paying lip service. At Jhana, diversity is a critical competitive advantage that will help our company succeed, and we treat it like one. We’re working to define, build and actively reinforce a culture that seeks out and celebrates diverse perspectives, backgrounds and experiences across every aspect of our business.

We’re building a sustainable company — together.
We’re not one of those flash-in-the-pan startups. We want Jhana to grow responsibly over the long term, and the whole team has a say in how that happens.

We offer competitive compensation, 401k, unlimited PTO, health/dental/vision benefits, equity, a learning budget to spend on anything you’re interested in, and a coaching budget to help you grow your career. Our office is conveniently located in San Francisco’s Financial District, close to BART, MUNI, and major bus lines.
